The System: From Storage to Power

A CPC fuel assurance system for a behind-the-meter powered data center or distributed power application is a turnkey, automated facility designed to deliver pipeline-quality natural gas on demand, independently of grid or pipeline conditions. The system is fully instrumented, black-start capable, and sized for multi-day autonomous operation.
1 LNG Delivery LNG liquefied on-site during non-peak season, or trucked to site via standard cryogenic transport with 2–4 truck unloading bays.
2 Full-Containment Storage Tank Prestressed concrete outer wall with a 9% nickel steel inner tank. Sizes ranging from 2–50 MM gallons (0.15 Bcf to 4+ Bcf).
3 In-Tank Pumps & Send-Out Submerged cryogenic pumps deliver LNG at required flow. BOG compressors capture boil-off gas for reuse.
4 Vaporization (N+1 Configuration) Ambient-air or fan-assisted vaporizers (2×100% or 3×50%) convert LNG to pipeline-quality gas at required design pressure in under 7 minutes.
5 Gas-to-Power Generation Regasified natural gas delivered at specified pressure directly to reciprocating engines, turbines, or fuel-cell systems.

Reliability by Design: N+1 Vaporization

Vaporization systems are configured in a 2×100% or 3×50% (N+1) arrangement as standard. In either configuration, the facility operates at full send-out capacity with one vaporizer offline for maintenance or in a fault condition.
Simple, Proven Technology

Ambient-air and fan-assisted vaporizers have no combustion, no moving parts in the gas stream, and require minimal operator intervention.

OEM Support at Commissioning

CPC brings the vaporizer OEM to the commissioning process to ensure facility operators are fully trained to specification.

Warehouse Spare Option

Where the owner requires maximum resilience, a pre-positioned spare vaporizer can be included in the EPC scope — reducing any repair scenario to a scheduled swap rather than an extended outage.

Operator Training

All facility personnel are trained as part of CPC's commissioning handover package. The system is designed to be operated by the facility's existing O&M staff.

The Data Center Application: Physical Fuel Assurance

The standard "firm" gas contract does not provide the reliability that hyperscale data centers and AI compute campuses require. Firm is a contract term. It is not a physics term.
Firm contracts are subject to force majeure curtailment. Pipeline and grid constraints routinely override contractual firm commitments during extreme events — exactly the conditions under which data center operators cannot afford an interruption.
Physical Assurance

On-site LNG storage replaces contractual assurance with physical assurance: molecules on site, inside the fence, and available on demand.

Multi-Day Autonomous Operation

A facility sized to the power plant's fuel consumption provides days to weeks of ride-through — far beyond diesel or virtual pipeline solutions.

No Winterization Risk

LNG is inherently cryogenic. It does not freeze. LNG systems are not subject to the diesel freeze failures that affect large-scale backup generation in extreme cold events.

Superior to Bulk Diesel

LNG vaporizes to clean pipeline-spec gas with no combustion variability, no particulate emissions, no fuel degradation, and a significantly lower emissions profile over extended run times.

Scalable in Two Dimensions

CPC's modular construction approach scales with facility growth — additional tank capacity can be added as a campus expands. The technology also scales broadly by project size: from a 1.5 MM gallon tank providing 2.5 days of full-curtailment ride-through for a 300 MW facility, up to a 24 MM gallon tank providing 10 days of autonomous operation for a 1 GW campus — and anywhere in between.

Why Choose CPC?

Proprietary Sliding Base Technology

Our sliding-base precast concrete outer wall is the only full-containment system that maintains vapor tightness independent of upset conditions; a documented engineering advantage over every LNG tank competitor.

50-Year Design Life

CPC's prestressed concrete systems are engineered for 50+ year service lives. Our Philadelphia Gas Works tanks have been in continuous LNG operation since 1974; over 50 years of uninterrupted service.

Full EPC Accountability

One contract, one team, one point of responsibility: from ground-breaking through first gas. We manage engineering interfaces, fabrication sequencing, regulatory submissions, and commissioning.

Financial Strength & Field Resources

CCPC carries bonding capacity of $250MM per single project and $750MM+ in the aggregate through our Travelers' Surety program. Our affiliation with the Cashman family of companies gives us direct access to experienced field management, heavy construction equipment, and a deep skilled-trades labor force; all of which back every CPC project.
